Fat Bat: the adventure begins

My sister and her family recently moved into the house that we grew up in, and when she was tidying up one of the rooms recently she found an old book that my mother helped me put together when I was quite young (I'm guessing I was four or five). And now I've scanned it in! [start at page one]

!!!!!

OMG. I have a very, very, VERY similar book that my mom helped me put together when I was about the same age. Mine is about a fat cat that sat on a rat though, and on the cover my mom did those little dashed lines for letters so I could write my name. She also drew the cat and rat on one page, and I would "draw" something similar on the opposite page, or color it in (never within the lines though).

That's really funny. Are you sure your mom and my mom aren't related?

That is SO cool! The 'fat' bat is indeed fatter than the other bats.

On a related note, I think I still have the stories I dictated to you when I was four, one of which eventually became Friend Bear.

hooray! Your decision to have the fat bat sit on at instead of a mat is BRILLIANT.

I have a book of short stories from when I was six. no illustrations though, and most of my stories featured butterflies and bears getting married and having fuzzy winged babies.
