grrr.

Having driven around some of the backroads in Providence tonight, I am impressed at how, five days after it snowed, many of them still have long stretches which are covered in sheer ice. Is Providence unfamiliar with the use of sand in such circumstances? The sidewalks are even worse.

I don't look forward to trying to get around after the first really big snowstorm.

Since moving to Attleboro I have been consistently surprised by Providence's lack of plowing. Even the itty bitty side street I live on had been thoroughly plowed by the day after the storm. In contrast, Providence has dozens and dozens of streets with sheets of ice. I don't get it.

when i walked to julian's last night, i pretty much had to walk in the middle of the street the whole way.

walking to work has become nearly unworkable - i take the bus, feeling faintly ridiculous.
NO ONE shovels their sidewalks on the East Side. No one.
