I did a little poking around ... it looks like the meme began here. The original list:

The only one that's on my list is Terry Pratchett (I have books by some of the others, but they weren't on Schwa's list and aren't on mine). However, Mr. Pratchett's been removed and added from various peoples' lists along the line a couple of times ...

The author on my list that has the longest unbroken chain leading up to me is J.R.R. Tolkien, with my post making the chain nine links long, if I counted right.

Now, I'll agree with Dan Savage that yes, his favorite acronym is funny and all (DOAC, Defecate on Ann Coulter), and I'll agree with Al Franken that Ann is a Liar Liar Liar.

But still, those two guys for a start probably have her books on their shelves, in the name of research.

Along with the Bork, Bennett, and O'Reilly flavors.

Unless they burned them after the research.

I guess having certain books on one's shelf doesn't mean one agrees with what they say.

I agree, the stigma would be too much.

But there are probably some people who don't mind that, and buy the books anyway. Maybe specifically in order to destroy them later. ;-)
