Upcoming shows

Tomorrow (Wednesday) I plan to go to the open mike at Tazza again (hopefully I'll get the first slot at 8:45 pm). My offer of A FREE DRINK to anyone who comes to hear me play is still open. (Also hopefully I will get closer to being booked as a featured act there.) Tazza's address is 250 Westminster Street in Providence. There is no cover charge (although they do pass the hat for the main act).

Beyond that Chris Monti and I have a few Killdevils shows coming up at Nick-A-Nees.

The closest one is this coming Thursday, June 8, from 9 pm to midnight. However, this is Christy's birthday and I think there might be something else going on related to that which people should go to instead. So one of the other shows might be better:

Thursday, July 13 9 pm-midnight at Nick-a-Nees
Thursday, July 27 9 pm-midnight at Nick-a-Nees

Tazza update, plus an unrelated note

Becky Chace just emailed me to ask if I want to be the featured performer on Wednesday August 30th, so I'll be doing that! I'll make another post with more information closer to the date itself, of course.

I still think I'll go to the open mike tomorrow (Wednesday, not tonight which my earlier message implied, I think because I was a little confused about what day of the week it was).

On an unrelated musical note, my dad emailed me to let me know that there are a bunch of cool concerts for the Lowell Summer Music Series this year -- it looks like ticket prices range from $11 to $22, which isn't bad.

illness

Those who have talked to me in the past day or so are probably not shocked to learn that I've been coming down with something. Today I've felt progressively worse and I ultimately decided to take the last couple of hours off from work to go back to bed. I'm still feeling none too great, though, and should probably go back to bed again before too long. (The basic symptoms are: coughing, sneezing, lots of congestion, loss of appetite, and general wooziness. I suspect a fever but can't seem to find my thermometer.)

My ability to do fun stuff the rest of the week depends on how quickly I recover. There are some things happening on Thursday that I absolutely want to do if at all possible, so I think I'll take a sick day tomorrow (which I think I would end up doing anyway given how I feel) to try to maximize the chances of being recovered enough to do those things (The things in question are this and the Nick-A-Nees Killdevils show.)

So I may not be online as much as usual for the next day or two, and if you're wondering what's up, this is it.

Next to do: go to grocery store, buy healthful things and a thermometer, come home, consume, sleep.
