I dropped my car off at Bristol Toyota this morning for its 120,000 mile checkup. The guy just called me to let me know what needs to be fixed -- which is a lot, apparently. The total will be about $1500, and it won't be done until tomorrow.

On the upside, I get to keep the rental car they loaned me for an extra day.

It seems like a lot for a car that didn't seem to have anything obviously wrong with it. On the other hand, maybe now I get another 60,000 miles of nothing-obviously-wrong-with-it driving out of it?

What needed to be fixed? My car has over 160k on it and I haven't had to spend more than half that much on it at once...

Well, I should say that I took it to the dealer, so it was probably a bit more expensive than it would otherwise have been. But some of the stuff:

- Corroded radiator which needed to be replaced.
- Malfunctioning door sensor.
- Replacing radio antenna.
- Leaky exhaust pipe.

eugh. I've started thinking that perhaps I want to sell my car... bikes are never that expensive. And are certainly awesomer, except for grocery shopping.

Well, I wouldn't have to feel bad about buying a several-hundred-dollar new bike if I were to sell my car and wasn't paying insurance anymore!
