I was looking at an article about General Tommy Franks, and it included the following quote:

Of course, my immediate thought was, Hey, those are both prime numbers!

use two-digit prime numbers. I think two-digit primes seem "random" to people just because they're so much more rarely seen than composite numbers, which come up constantly in multiplying small numbers.

I just polled my office for two-digit random numbers.

One picked a prime number, the other four picked even numbers. One even picked 16, which is a rather common power of two.
