Since I had a week and a half off and we were staying in New England rather than traveling long distances, I was planning on being very creative over the Christmas/New Year's break, posting lots of elaborate stuff and maybe writing some longer pieces. But none of this actually happened, since, except for a few days right after Christmas, it was all taken up with visiting or being visited by assorted family and friends, or preparing for same. It was great fun and I love all these people, but I ended up with not much more unstructured downtime than I get in a typical week, and what I had I mostly spent enjoying the Christmas haul.
