Honestly, I think that most people would not have to worry about falling asleep at this movie, even if they went to the 9:10 pm showing.

i saw it at 9:50 in seekonk and didn't fall asleep and i fall asleep pretty easy

leaning my head on the wall half the time, and was wide awake by halfway through. Impressive results for such a dreamlike movie!

Either the Academy was crazy not to nominate Maribel Verdú for best supporting actress, or there were apparently a few other performances last year that I really need to go see. Also I love how her father's admonition to be wary of fauns sets the tone for wondering if Ofelia is walking into a trap the whole time and then turns out to be apt in a totally unexpected way. (Also and, between this and Prisoner of Azkaban, I guess I should get around to seeing Y tu mamá también.)
