These band names are all theoretical, as far as I know, and came out of a conversation with kattullus tonight.

Kári originally proposed 'Insane Hair' as a bad band name, and then we discussed ways to improve it. (And then I got home and misremembered it as 'Crazy Hair'.)

"Crazy Hair" sounds like the sort of band name that parent-friendly children's entertainers suppose 7-year-olds will like.

On looking at the later voting and comments, I get the impression that others are voting for "so bad it's good" names. I didn't - I voted for "Crazy Hair" on the grounds that it really sucks and isn't cool at all. It's so bad it's bad. If I were choosing a "so bad it's good" name, I'd probably go for "Insane Hair Asylum."

Naah, I picked "Insane Hair" as so bad it's bad. "Crazy Hair" is very slightly better because of a better consonant/vowel ratio, and the other two are very slightly better because the additional word reduces the blandness factor a bit.

I would portmanteau the last one into "Hairsylum". I'm not sure if that qualifies as making it better, or making it worse.

After Hairsylum breaks up and twenty years go by like nothing and they get back together for a reunion tour but discover that the drummer is dead and the rest of the band's members are all suffering from receding hairlines, they could change the name to BIG FOREHEAD.
