I got home a little while ago and, when I turned on the light in my dining room, one of the lightbulbs exploded. Tomorrow morning I'll take some pliars and see if I can extract the base of the bulb from the socket. Unexpected!

Just don't electrocute yourself either way. That would be bad.

This also seems like a good idea. There's a fixture switch and a wall switch, and I'll make sure that both are off.

Aaaand don't forget that there's still fine shards of broken glass in the base. The potato is a good solution as far as teh glass is concerned, but I doubt it's as effective a removal tool as pliers.
