jwghI went to the tow lot this morning. I think that the situation is as good as could reasonably be expected.
The car seemed to be pretty much intact -- the windows were all there, the ignition seemed OK even, and it started right up. The car is now very loud, though. My insurance guy thought that maybe the thieves took its catalytic converter, but after thinking about it and discussing it with dad I think it's more likely that they ran roughshod over some curbs and dislodged the muffler or something like that.
Anyway, my insurance company's arranged for a repair shop near where I live to go pay the tow fee, get the car, and give it a good going-over. Hopefully I will hear from there later.
The guitar and keyboard amp are both gone (as expected). The Christmas presents were still there, though. Also present is the car stereo, the airbags, and my piano seat. (I think that whoever took the car just took it someplace, ransacked it, and dumped it.)
