for me to admit that I will never watch any of my videotapes and should get rid of all (or almost all) of them. Does someone want to look through them for some reason or should I just put them out on the curb? (Is there a third option that's better?)

I've got a bunch of Mystery Science Theater 3000, some random movies, and a bunch of recorded TV shows of various stripes, probably mostly recorded in 1995-1999.

you should sell them on eBay! you'd be surprised how much you can get for VHS tapes sold in lots. just list them as one big lot and people will bid on them. might as well get some cash out of the deal, right? :) (i'm selling my mom's old VHS tapes on eBay now...)

OR you could just let me look through them. I love movies and I love free.

But I am picky. Can you give me a hint as to what's in there?

Man, I would kill for those MST3K videos, especially considering you're the one who showed me in the first place. (Teenagers From Outer Space, if I remember correctly.) I don't suppose I can snag those from you if you're really just gonna chuck 'em? I'll be in the aaaarea sooooon

If you have any unclaimed MST3K I want them. Although I suspect djswifty beat me to it. Wait, were they recorded off TV or bought? If they were bought, I already have them all, because I am obsessed. I'll shut up now. Mrphh!

If the Hitch movies are bought, definitely eBay them, they are probably out of print by now and someone would want them.

Early in the summer, someone who lived in the apartment across the street put out to the curb (not on garbage day) a box containing dozens of quirky movies, some bought and others recorded off television. Grl, who is quite fond of B movies, has watched more of them than we have.

There are doubtless better options, but as a last resort you could pin a "please take care of my puppy" note to the videos nobody claims and see whether anyone turns up to save them.
