Erin McKeown in Northampton New Year's Eve

On December 31 Ms. McKeown's playing at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, Massachusetts. She'll be one of three acts, with Martin Sexton being the main act and a band called Firedrill! also playing. The show starts at 8 pm.

Tickets are, um, kind of pricy ($27.50 for the cheap seats, looks like) but I think I'll go anyway and I wanted to post about this in case anyone else is interested. Particularly if they are interested in carpooling.

I think it would be nice to go to Northampton for the day, because it is a fun place to be.

as you know, i'd love to go, but there has been talk of hosting a new year's party at my place. but, if you decide to go hang out there for the day, i could potentially be up for that and just come back earlier.

Ooh, the Calvin is a music venue now? That makes me unreasonably happy.

I used to game with a guy who worked there, who was amazed the place hadn't fallen down. I guess the owner wasn't too good at upkeep. Maybe he sold it.

I think it was renovated and reopened at some point, so maybe so. I've been there once before (to see a movie, I think) but don't remember much about how it looked.
