I have a lot of stuff I want to do to prepare for the weekend, so I decided to take an impromptu vacation day. What to do today?

- Figure out hat pattern and go to yarn store ('A Stitch Above'?) to buy supplies
- Finish baby pants and take a picture of them
- Make cookies
- Have lunch with people at O-Cha on Wickendon at 1 pm
- Take a nap
- other stuff

I finished the baby pants I'm making for my friend Sarah Karush's baby. That was a quick little project! The pattern's from Joelle Hoverson's Last-Minute Knitted Gifts, which is a nifty little book although the title is a bit deceptive.

My next project is a hat (the 'almost-famous luggy bonnet' pattern by Lucy Mackenzie & Kirsteen Mitcalfe from Weekend Knitting) for the same baby. After lunch today I went to A Stitch Above with [livejournal.com profile] restartsmyheart and picked up a bunch of merino for the hat:

[livejournal.com profile] restartsmyheart suggested that I should plan to make about fifty of these hats given the amount of yarn I got. Well, we'll see how much yarn is left over after I make the first one.
