Outside

I need to spend a bunch of time outside, I think. The tentative plan: Walk around the East Side for a while, have dinner, go someplace with outside seating (maybe the Coffee Exchange), knit and read depressing articles in liberal magazines.

If anyone wants to get on board for any of this, feel free to call me -- I'll have my cell phone.

It's almost as addictive as knitting.

Hey, btw, I've done my part to spread the addiction; I gave a coworker a knitting lesson at lunch yesterday. I gave her two extra needles I had and a ball of scrap purple yarn (but sadly forgot to say "first ones free") and she went right to town on it. She was really fast! So of course I had to show her the pics of your steggie; she was suitably impressed. So I consider this a satisfactory assimilation in the Knitting Collective.

I saw a great egret the other day. Or if it wasn't great, it was pretty good. I looked it up online afterward and it seems as though it wasn't big enough to be a great, and this seems the wrong time of year to be a juvenile, but the bill was the wrong color for a snowy and the legs were the wrong color for a cattle. So maybe I was just underestimating its size. Anyway, it was there in essentially a large puddle, just kind of hanging out.

I wasn't knitting.

I got your message while Iwas on my break at work. Yeah, I worked yesterday from 11-8. So I have one day off this week. I'm gonna stop complaining now :p
