In Haverhill they moved trick-or-treat time back to Sunday, which was why I got the pumpkin photos then. It was viciously windy, but we got a moderate number of kids, more than last year in Malden but not as many as two years ago when the weather was better.
That might have happened here also, I'm not sure (I was out of town on Sunday). Another factor I should have taken into account was that there was a stabbing at a bar in the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago and people are freaked out about it.
I have gotten two trick-or-treaters so far. Initially I told them, "You can take two pieces of candy," but then I thought again and told them to go to town. Still lots left, though.
I sallied outside today as high school was letting out, so I've seen many costumed kids today. I just heard a gaggle outside my window, but so far nobody has stopped. As usual. Man, do I have a bad reputation in the neighborhood? Maybe I shouldn't have tanned that goat hide on the lawn. But geez, that was, like, four months ago! In retrospect, putting it inside a pentagram was aesthetically pleasing but needlessly antagonistic.
Maybe that's why none of the other people in my building get calls either.
