I have a pair of chenille socks (store-bought, not hand knitted) which almost immediately developed a hole. That stuff isn't always easy to work with. For one thing, it doesn't hold shape well. I wouldn't use chenille to make anything that requires a lot of wear and tear like socks.

Also, your feet SQUISH the fluffy little fibers. It's just sad. The fluffiness doesn't last nearly as long as you could hope.
