	Here's what it looks like on the second floor porch.
	Hmmm, apparently this door isn't completely secure against the wind.
	My landlord's already done some shovelling. How nice!
	You can see that he shovelled a little path down the steps and directly to the street. I foolishly keep my snow shovel in my car's trunk, so I will have to wait for the landlord to do a little more shovelling before I can start to shovel out my car. (On the other hand, it's supposed to snow for another eleven hours, so maybe there's no rush.)

Over here, we've already got snowdrifts more than four feet high, and they're going to get deeper. The cars are completely buried on the downwind side.

I was feeling guilty for not getting the blown fuse in the heat pump replaced yesterday (it appears that the last time it blew, the repairman put in an incorrect fuse rated for barely more than the unit's minimum operating current), but it looks as if it's moot now; all the heat pumps are completely buried and it's doubtful they'll accomplish anything anyway.

kerri9494 says that the same is true in Rhode Island's South County, so I'm not sure why neighborhood seems to be (relatively) exempt.

A friend in Minnesota called to report that they were FINALLY getting snow-- this is the latest it has come in recorded history. (CURSE YOU MICHAEL CRICHTEN!) She told me that a sort of groundskeeper employed by her landlord (part time or multiple properties, I guess) was shoveling the snow when... he dropped the master key to the house somewhere in the yard. It being Minnesota, there's really little danger of anyone letting themselves in, except perhaps to leave the key, a nice note, and maybe some casserole, but I told her that she really should get our friend Ranjit to build her a metal detector anyway. The only problem is, he's like as not to build it out of altoids tins, which could complicate detection.
